Increasing Local Aid
Jim Lyons and 34 other reform Republicans have consistently fought for increasing Local Aid by millions of dollars in state budgets. Jim’s hard work is producing results: Local Aid to the 18th Essex District has increased by over a half million dollars. Jim’s sound fiscal proposals will ad $50 million in local community funding and equitably fund our school district Foundation Budgets.
Steady advocacy for Local Aid protects working families who pay the bulk of property taxes. Local Aid supports our community budgets, preserves Proposition 2 and 1/2, and caps our property taxes.
Jim Lyons is working to maintain the local services that matter most to our communities. Local Aid helps our towns sustain those services nearest to our families: education, libraries, police, fire, public safety, first responders, and public works.
