Eighteen months ago I received the great honor of being re-elected to the office of State Representative for the towns of Andover, Boxford, North Andover, and Tewksbury. As my second term on Beacon Hill comes to a close, I wish to thank you again for your generous support throughout that campaign.
In 2012, with the help of committed supporters such as you, Team Lyons was able to beat back a campaign financed by big-money insiders and Beacon Hill power brokers that spent over $130,000 to try to defeat us and the message of reform we brought to Beacon Hill.
In the year and a half since then, we have diligently continued to fight to roll back state tax hikes, preserve local aid, and foster a business climate conducive to job creation and economic growth. Most recently, we battled the Democrats on their bloated $36 billion state budget, opposed $15 billion in bond bills which borrow money to pay for a multitude of pork projects in districts with vulnerable Democrat incumbents, and have been YOUR VOICE against the Governor’s systematic interference in the rights of parents. In short, we continue to be a major thorn in the side of the Beacon Hill establishment and must be prepared for them to come at us harder than ever in the 2014 elections.
With the November election less than 6 months away, it is time to kick off our reelection efforts in order to repeat our past successes in 2014. I am confident that we will once again prevail with our message of rolling back taxes, increasing local aid, restoring traditional values, and protecting the hard working families of the Commonwealth. This confidence is founded upon your support, and help from so many other enthusiastic volunteers.
Please help us kick off the 2014 campaign at our 4th Annual Summer Campaign Cookout on Thursday, June 26th, from 5:30pm – 8:30pm at the Barn, 12 High Vale Lane, Andover, MA. We will be serving hot dogs, hamburgers, and assorted beverages. If you’re unable to join us, please consider sending your contribution of $100, $50, $25, or whatever you can best afford. The maximum campaign contribution limit is $500 per person. Checks can be made payable to: The Committee to Elect Jim Lyons. Alternatively, you can donate online by clicking here.
We hope you will be able to join us!
